Blue Lotus Nature Preschool
At Blue Lotus Nature Preschool, we strive to educate the whole child using a Reggio Emilia approach based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community. The blue lotus represents common sense; the use of wisdom and logic to create enlightenment.
Blue Lotus students learn through daily exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching natural environment, typically outdoors, and based on the interests of the children through a self-guided curriculum.
We learn through natural play with each other and our animals, practical work in our gardens and barn, and creative projects in nature and in our art studio.
Areas of learning in our unique environment:
Art - painting, sculpting, woodworking, and crafts
Movement - dance, parkour, and yoga
Culture - stories, poetry, music, food, and festivals
Self-Awareness - social grace, courtesy, and meditation
Environmental Studies - science, farming, gardening, and animal husbandry
